Work Location/Schedule:

Hybrid in office 3 days per week, commutable distance to one of our offices in Arlington VA, Alpharetta, GA or Houston, TX.

Relocations considered.
(There are multiple regional openings:
Americas, Americas West, Americas East and Latin America/South America.)

Position Overview: The Commercial Finance Manager is accountable for overseeing all financial and contractual elements associated with customer proposals during the sales phase.

This encompasses, but is not limited to, steering the process for financial matters to ensure adherence to company policies regarding contractual, accounting, legal, and tax implications of the proposals.

The CFM guarantees compliance with relevant regulations (both internal and external) throughout the bidding process and ensures a comprehensive and precise representation of the risk and financial profiles of each opportunity from the firm offer stage to the contracting phase.

The CFM role is pivotal and actively involved during customer contract negotiations, ensuring a proper equilibrium of the risk/reward relationship for each opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Secures timely and adequate support from subject matter experts within the organization to effectively develop the financial aspects of proposals during the bidding process.
  • Assists the Sales team in managing and optimizing targeted financial outcomes with due diligence (e.g., project margin, cash flow, security and credit instruments, insurance, contractual risks, etc.).
  • Ensures accurate communication of customer’s financial requirements and provides a precise assessment of the contractual/financial risks.
  • Secures appropriate approval levels within the organization, including to the Executive Leadership Team as necessary.
  • Facilitates the review and evaluation of customer contract conditions and ensures examination by Legal.
  • Signs off on project pricing calculations and documentation.
  • Participates in contract negotiations, driving discussions related to commercial contractual terms while ensuring adherence to the company's risk profiles.
  • Ensures accuracy of risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Conducts the project handover from sales to execution teams.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications: 5-7 years of financial management experience with large projects in the Energy Sector, including scopes of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Long-Term Services.

Advanced knowledge of contract (EPCs/Services) requirements.
In-depth understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions, including light drafting with contracts.
Detail-oriented with strong time management and project management skills.
Good working knowledge of the Energy Storage Industry is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interact with executive management.
Excellent negotiation skills with third parties and customers.
Advanced understanding of Project Accounting Methods.
Advanced understanding of Project financial KPIs.
Advanced understanding of Project risk management requirements such as insurance, securities, guarantees, liquidated damages, etc.
Good working knowledge of project management-related activities.
Strong background in using MS Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Up to 25% travel as needed domestically and potentially globally.
Supporting the sales organization which requires more contract risk and contract set-up and financial analysis.
Education: Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, business administration, or finance.

Compensation:
$110,000 - $138,000 a year
