The individual in this role will conduct thorough background investigations, including the examination of documents and financial data, to assess the suitability of applicants for a sports wagering license. This evaluation focuses on the integrity, honesty, character, and financial standing of the applicants. The incumbent will also oversee the ongoing suitability of current licensees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and assess personal and business financial records (e.g., credit history reports, open-source online platforms, tax returns, bank records, court documents) to verify the accuracy and sufficiency of information provided in licensing applications.
  • Review and evaluate credit history reports, due diligence/background reports, and financial statements, applying relevant internal policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Engage with license applicants and conduct interviews related to ongoing background investigations.
  • Contact necessary internal and external sources to confirm the validity of information presented by applicants.
  • Examine information and reports from other gaming jurisdictions where the applicant holds licenses for sports wagering or related activities.
  • Prepare detailed and comprehensive investigative reports.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite effectively for tasks such as data entry and analysis, demonstrating advanced skills in Excel.
  • Access licensing data systems proficiently, ensuring proper retrieval and handling of both general and confidential materials.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors to gain knowledge of laws and regulations pertinent to the District's sports wagering operations.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions, making recommendations and presenting findings.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented approach with strong organizational, prioritization, record-keeping, and time management skills.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the organization, aligning with its vision, mission, and values.
  • Promote the objectives of the organization and its programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Possess a valid driver's license to facilitate interviews and the delivery of gaming licenses.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Essential Skills:
