Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Community Events Manager to enhance our initiatives. Reporting directly to the Head of Developer Community, this role is pivotal in advancing our community engagement efforts and collaborating with the Marketing and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams across various activities. This position is focused on driving developer interaction, increasing brand visibility, generating regional leads, and achieving pipeline objectives through effective execution of marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement top-tier developer events, campaigns, and programs aimed at fostering developer engagement and generating revenue through lead acquisition and new sales opportunities.
- Act as the Event Producer for significant programs and external conferences.
- Collaborate with Marketing leadership and Regional Sales teams to formulate and execute a comprehensive Community marketing strategy.
- Maintain meticulous planning and documentation to facilitate stakeholder collaboration.
- Utilize Salesforce CRM for tracking, reporting, and documentation, which is essential for success in this role.
- Engage extensively with various functional teams across the organization.
- Bring a dynamic and positive attitude that reflects the core values of DigitalOcean.
- Oversee the management of both virtual and live events.
Expectations:
- Proficient in event management tools, registration platforms, CRM systems, and other technologies to enhance event processes and attendee experiences.
- In-depth understanding of the B2B SaaS and Developer events landscape, including major industry events.
- Manage staffing plans and event logistics, including venue selection and coordination with event staff and technical teams.
- Establish relationships with experiential agencies and production vendors while effectively managing project budgets.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue through lead generation-focused events, with the ability to define success metrics and analyze outcomes for future planning.
- Experience in field marketing or demand generation, collaborating closely with sales teams.
- Strong networking and communication skills, with a focus on building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
- Awareness of emerging trends in cloud services and the ability to leverage opportunities for DigitalOcean.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas and take calculated risks.
- Familiarity with Marketo and Salesforce platforms is preferred.
- Experience in Developer or Start-up environments is advantageous.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including email campaigns and the company website.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
