Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing staff supervision and training, as well as conducting interviews, background investigations, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a criminal justice environment and a strong understanding of counseling methods and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct interviews and background investigations to gather information for court cases
  2. Prepare reports and paperwork for defendants and courts
  3. Work with the Unit Supervisor to supervise and coordinate the activities of employees
  4. Direct and train assigned counselors and evaluate their effectiveness
  5. Organize and lead team discussions to promote unit and departmental goals
  6. Review files and paperwork for accuracy and completeness

Requirements

  • Two years of experience working in a criminal justice environment
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or related field
  • Ability to work in a jail secured environment and obtain a Special Deputy License
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
