Position Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our mission of delivering superior products that enhance patient care and safety. The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with additional hours as required.

Key Responsibilities
The Process Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading initiatives aimed at process enhancement, focusing on value stream management, quality assurance, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborating with production personnel to gather and analyze operational data, conducting statistical analyses to identify root causes of issues.
  • Facilitating process improvement projects that involve cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Initiating cost-saving measures and compiling relevant data to support actionable recommendations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and oversight of the capital budget, forecasting developmental costs, and aiding in capital request submissions.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and objectives regarding process management and project execution.

Essential Duties
The role includes, but is not limited to:
  • Providing engineering support in the design and development of new manufacturing processes and products.
  • Leading significant process improvement projects aimed at waste reduction across the supply chain.
  • Interpreting customer specifications and technical drawings to create extruded products.
  • Developing training processes for peers in engineering and production, promoting continuous improvement practices.
  • Collaborating with sales and engineering teams to evaluate and implement process enhancements that optimize financial returns.
  • Supporting the strategic planning of technical initiatives with a focus on necessary process modifications for future advancements.
  • Recommending process improvement methodologies based on manufacturing capabilities.
  • Working closely with project managers to assess process options and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Assisting in the formulation of technical specifications for upcoming projects.
  • Conducting validation tests for new product implementations.
  • Performing process capability assessments to ensure production efficacy.
  • Executing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A strong foundation in plastics and experience in extrusion or injection molding.
  • Proven experience in process development within a manufacturing environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience in extrusion manufacturing.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A hands-on approach, with a willingness to engage in production activities as needed.
  • The capacity to travel for project-related tasks.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies is highly desirable.
