Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Building Construction Engineer to join our team in Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough field investigations and building assessments to identify potential issues.
  • Design and specify structural systems for new building construction and renovations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize advanced drafting software (AutoCAD and Revit) to create detailed project designs.
  • Analyze building systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Review contractor submittals to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Document existing conditions before and during construction through meticulous field visits.
  • Mentor junior staff on complex structural engineering tasks.
  • Collaborate with other trades and disciplines to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering; master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience required, consulting experience preferred.
  • EIT certification required; PE certification preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with design and drafting using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber design is highly desirable.

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards.
