Position Overview:

Title: Customs/Trade Analyst - 2 Openings
Location: Not specified
Duration: 3 Months (potential for extension)

Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with trade regulations and customs laws, focusing on document control and supporting manufacturing identification across various data sets. This role involves auditing items related to import/export processes from a customs perspective.
  • Gathering information regarding export destinations and coordinating with multiple departments is essential. Candidates with prior experience are preferred, but training will be provided for those who are new to the field. Familiarity with import/export coding is beneficial.

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel, ACE, and Word.
  • Understanding of classified goods.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and trade laws, including 19CFR, 15CFR, FDA, USDA, and other relevant US regulatory requirements.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Logistics/Transportation, or related fields.
  • Associate degree acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in trade compliance is required.

Key Duties:

  • Provide technical and analytical support for customs and trade compliance issues at the site/division level, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.
  • Utilize knowledge of import/export regulations to support business operations.
  • Analyze import/export data to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and present recommendations to management as necessary.
  • Collaborate with related functional areas (logistics, purchasing, materials management, etc.) on customs-related matters.
  • Offer analytical support for reporting price adjustments and royalties via the CBP Reconciliation Prototype Program.
  • Conduct thorough and timely reviews/audits of all import/export records and escalate issues that require correction.
