Environmental Health and Safety Specialist III

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist III to join our team. As a key member of our EH&S department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement EH&S programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address EH&S concerns.
- Provide training and education to employees on EH&S policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report EH&S incidents and near-misses.
- Develop and maintain EH&S policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with EH&S regulations.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to address EH&S deficiencies.
- Provide EH&S support to management and staff on EH&S-related matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Natural Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in environmental health and safety, risk management, or directly related field.
- Healthcare Environmental Manager Certificate within 24 months of hire.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Healthcare Environmental Manager (HEM), or related certification.
