The OpportunityWe're seeking a seasoned VP of Operations to lead our South San Francisco-based bioreactor operations. This role requires strategic and operational leadership to drive business objectives and ensure client satisfaction. You'll oversee a team of 30 members and collaborate cross-functionally with sales, R&D, manufacturing, finance, and product teams.
Key Responsibilities- Head up the day-to-day operation of Culture's bioreactor processing service operations.
- Oversee the integration of microbial, mammalian, and viral vector applications into our product and service offerings.
- Implement scalable and profitable bioreactor operations that balance customization for clients without compromising operational efficiency.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to align commercial and operational objectives.
- Forecast and develop strategic plans for capacity planning.
- Participate in new product launches and drive capacity expansion.
- Foster a culture of client-focused and client-centric processes across commercial and operations teams.
- Introduce advanced technologies like AI and machine learning to streamline project programming and execution.
- Define and control budget and spending for services and products.
- Serve as site leader for laboratory operations.
We're looking for a seasoned operations leader with 15+ years of experience in the bioprocessing or biomanufacturing industry, with a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience. You should have an advanced degree in science, engineering, or a related field. Experience with cell/gene therapy, viral vector, and contract development and manufacturing operations (CDMO) is a plus.
What We OfferCulture Biosciences provides a supportive environment that values innovation, reliability, and teamwork. We offer a competitive salary range of $240,000 to $290,000, equity for all full-time roles, and great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan with company match.
