Position Overview

Your Role

You will contribute to program research, strategic planning, permitting, compliance monitoring, and technical support services related to biological resources.

Additionally, you will assist project teams and senior staff in report writing, collaborating to develop plans and implement steps to advance projects efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support, including database searches and literature reviews, to the project team during the management and coordination of natural environment components for renewable energy, oil and gas, and other development initiatives.
  • Assist with fieldwork, including breeding bird surveys, vegetation assessments, wetland delineation, special-status species surveys, and construction monitoring, while preparing associated reports.
  • Guide junior staff in effectively completing tasks and provide input to field teams.
  • Support the planning, preparation, and review of technical reports or sections of larger environmental assessments.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to respond to Requests for Proposals, defining scope, costs, and compiling relevant proposal sections.
  • Stay informed on existing and emerging regulatory requirements, wildlife, and vegetation assessment methodologies.

Travel may be necessary within and outside designated regions.


Your Qualifications

  • Proficient in technical writing and effective communication with clients, engineers, scientists, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via tele/video conferencing, and through written correspondence.
  • Experience in biological monitoring, surveying, and reporting, or natural resource permitting.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with GPS and GIS tools for data collection.
  • Valid Driver's License and a good driving record are required.
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field, with 2-5 years of relevant experience.

This position may require the successful completion of a physical exam prior to employment.


Work Environment

The role involves a typical office setting with prolonged computer use, alongside fieldwork that may expose you to various weather conditions. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
