Key Responsibilities

Summary

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for a range of administrative and HR-related tasks that support the fundamental HR operations of the organization. This role may involve cross-training to assist with various functions as directed by management. Familiarity with HR policies, procedures, and relevant laws at both state and federal levels is essential. The Specialist will provide support to our ancillary home health services.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage the timekeeping system and assist in labor management.
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, which encompasses: candidate sourcing, preliminary interviews, background checks, scheduling drug tests, and orientation sessions.
  • Assist with employee investigations and provide recommendations concerning hiring and disciplinary actions.
  • Utilize various software applications related to recruitment, timekeeping, and daily reporting.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and compliance of all employee personnel files in accordance with federal and state regulations and corporate policies.
  • Ensure that staff complete required training and in-service sessions per regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines, while effectively communicating policies.
  • Provide weekly reports and maintain a collaborative relationship with corporate HR personnel.
  • Be prepared to be cross-trained in additional tasks as assigned by the Regional Administrator, Regional HR Manager, and VP of Human Resources.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in payroll, timekeeping, and recruitment within a skilled nursing or long-term care environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in payroll processing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
