Job Summary

This is a developmental position with known promotion potential to the target position Human Resources Assistant (Classification). The incumbent works closely with the supervisor in performing duties identified in the full performance standard core personnel document/core document.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of the work of classification specialists.
  • Independently identifies if Standard Core Personnel Documents (SCPDs) can be used in lieu of Core Personnel Documents (CPDs).
  • Processes RPAs and position change requests of varying complexity; processes the actions, responding to error messages.
  • Performs a variety of classification program support duties.
  • Provides information and advice to AFPC serviced customers regarding classification procedures.
  • Performs a variety of projects in support of the work of Classification, Staffing, and the agency Civilian HR Program.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

Specialized Experience

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or equivalent in other pay systems.

  • Using a knowledge of basic principles of the classified titled or related field.
  • Communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
  • Learning basic techniques of the classified title.
  • Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
  • Planning and organizing work, and consulting effectively with co-workers.
Education

Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
