Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a Vice President to spearhead projects within the Strategy & Business Transformation practice. This role will involve close collaboration with Managing Directors and Senior Vice Presidents on client projects, delivering strategic and financial advisory services. The ideal candidate will be expected to independently lead client engagements with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, including historical and current issues related to providers, payment structures, and policy, while effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse clients.
  • Leading the formulation of Kaufman Hall projects, which encompass market research, development of comprehensive strategies for health systems, evaluation of growth strategies in consolidating markets, and creation of service distribution frameworks.
  • Designing analytical models to address critical questions facing our clients, including assessments of organizational positioning across essential dimensions such as quality, cost, access, and competitive standing.
  • Ensuring exceptional project management to achieve successful outcomes from both Kaufman Hall and client perspectives.
  • Enhancing thought leadership within Kaufman Hall and the healthcare sector through the generation of intellectual capital.
  • Fully understanding the Kaufman Hall business model.
  • Contributing significantly to the professional growth of Kaufman Hall staff, particularly within the strategy practice, guiding their success across various engagement levels.
  • Leading and supporting additional internal initiatives as directed.

Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a consulting capacity focused on the healthcare provider sector.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse range of projects, including organizational planning and partnership evaluations.
  • Capability to comprehend and articulate key aspects of a health system's financial status and performance.
  • Strong facilitation skills within organizations and across multiple entities.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, with experience in developing and assessing business and financial forecasts.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to oversee multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills at senior executive and board levels.
  • Solid technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Must have work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship.

Educational Background

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree in Healthcare is preferred.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
  • Work typically involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity for data analysis and extensive reading.
  • Moderate travel is required, potentially 50-75% of the time.
  • The role may involve a combination of office, home office, and client settings, utilizing standard office equipment.
