Position Overview

The Vice President of Advancement Operations & Campaign Strategy will report directly to the Vice President of University Advancement and will be an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team at Loyola University Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

The Vice President will lead a dedicated business unit focused on Advancement Operations and Campaign Strategy, which includes:
  • Campaign Strategy
  • Information Services & Reporting

  • Data Governance & Project Management

This role requires the Vice President to guide the Advancement Operations teams towards achieving professional excellence by establishing annual strategic priorities, overseeing progress towards set objectives, and developing comprehensive project work plans, timelines, and budgets.

The Vice President will collaborate closely with colleagues across the university and is expected to foster high-functioning, collaborative relationships while employing a user-centered approach to problem-solving and program enhancement.


Major Duties

  • Provide visionary leadership for the Advancement Operations & Campaign Strategy unit, setting strategic priorities and monitoring progress towards goals.
  • Lead a team of professionals in the Advancement Operations unit, focusing on performance management and professional development.
  • Develop and document processes and protocols, ensuring a data-driven culture within the unit.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of reports for tracking commitments and assessing engagement.
  • Ensure effective management of fundraising goals and report on performance metrics.
  • Enhance efficiency and automation in transaction processing and reporting.
  • Partner with senior leadership to plan and execute comprehensive campaign strategies.
  • Manage the Prospect Management and Research functions, ensuring a robust prospect pipeline.
  • Supervise the Data Integrity and Gift Processing functions, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Implement innovative data maintenance techniques to uphold record integrity.
  • Collaborate with the university's CIO to support strategic IT initiatives.
  • Ensure successful management of CRM conversions and related projects.
  • Work closely with the Gift Administration team to maintain accurate documentation of gifts and donor intent.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in fundraising management.
  • A master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution in a higher education context.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and motivate teams.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
