Position Overview
We are seeking a Vice President to spearhead projects within the Strategy & Business Transformation division. This role involves collaborating closely with Managing Directors and Senior Vice Presidents on client projects, delivering strategic and financial advisory services. The ideal candidate will be expected to independently lead client engagements and effectively present to senior management and boards, while simultaneously managing multiple projects with diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, including historical and current challenges related to providers, payment structures, and policy, while effectively communicating complex ideas to various stakeholders.
- Oversee the development of Kaufman Hall projects, including market research, enterprise-wide strategy formulation for health systems, growth strategy assessments, and service distribution planning.
- Design analytical frameworks to address critical questions for clients, evaluating organizational positioning across essential dimensions such as quality, cost, access, and competitive standing.
- Ensure excellent project management to guarantee successful outcomes from both Kaufman Hall and client perspectives.
- Enhance thought leadership within Kaufman Hall and the healthcare sector through the creation of intellectual contributions.
- Fully understand the Kaufman Hall business model and its implications.
- Play a pivotal role in the professional growth of Kaufman Hall personnel, particularly within the strategy practice, guiding their success and performance on projects.
- Support and lead additional internal initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in a consulting capacity focused on the healthcare provider sector.
- Ability to manage a diverse range of projects, including organizational planning and partnership evaluations.
- Comprehend and articulate key aspects of a health system's financial health and performance.
- Strong facilitation skills within organizations and across partnerships.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, with experience in developing and assessing business and financial forecasts.
- Proven project management experience in a dynamic environment.
- Capability to manage multiple concurrent engagements effectively.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills at senior executive and board levels.
- Solid technical and analytical computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Applicants must possess work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship for employment in the United States.
Education
- A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree in Healthcare is preferred.
Physical Requirements

Work Environment
- Moderate travel is required, potentially 50-75% of the time.

- Work is performed in a mix of office, home office, and client settings, utilizing standard office equipment.
- Maintaining a home office and proximity to an airport for travel may be necessary.
