Our client is a premier provider of energy efficiency solutions for chiller and boiler systems utilized in automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical facilities, and various commercial and industrial environments. With over two decades of experience, this organization caters to a diverse clientele, including numerous Fortune 500 companies.

As the company expands, they are seeking to enhance their engineering team by adding a skilled HVAC Controls Engineer.

Key Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer:

The primary objective is to guarantee the optimal and efficient functioning of HVAC industrial chiller and boiler systems through proficient electrical and controls design, programming, and commissioning (PLCs). This role includes conducting project site assessments, providing installation assistance, and delivering client training.

  • Conduct thorough inspections of project sites and support the development of implementation plans and schedules.
  • Assess and troubleshoot the status of equipment including chillers, boilers, valves, pumps, towers, and VFDs.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, clients, and design engineers to define project specifications.
  • Oversee preliminary system startup and commissioning to ensure adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate field software modifications with the system design engineer.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of HVAC control system designs, specifications, and programming code (PLC).
  • Prepare reports and documentation for clients, outlining system performance, energy consumption, and necessary recommendations for enhancements.
  • Provide training to site operation and maintenance staff.
  • Engage in significant domestic travel within the US, with opportunities for international travel.
  • Receive a generous per diem for travel and meal expenses.
  • Potential for career advancement to Senior System Design Engineer.

Location: Cincinnati, OH (On-site)

Compensation: $75k-$110k (commensurate with experience)

Travel Requirements: Domestic travel of 30% or more, eligible for travel bonuses and per diem allowances.

Qualifications for the HVAC Controls Engineer:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial controls or HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for 3-5 years.
  • Possession of a valid passport and driver's license, with the ability to travel within the US and Canada.
