The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Finance & Procurement Division is seeking a qualified Expense Payment Analyst.

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing Miscellaneous Payment Vouchers for the reimbursement of personal expenses incurred by DDC employees, including travel related to job assignments and reimbursements for professional licenses and certifications.

The candidate is expected to meticulously review payment requests in accordance with the Comptroller's Directive and prepare agency checks for DDC's Annual Employee Recognition.

Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with reconciling monthly bank statements from the Imprest and Demand Accounts, preparing necessary Comptroller documents for year-end audits, and collaborating closely with the Comptroller's Office to resolve payment discrepancies.

Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. The NYC Department of Design and Construction does not provide sponsorship for international employees. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all qualifying requirements for this position at the time of application.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, with courses in advanced accounting and auditing; or
  • A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license.

To qualify for Assignment Level II, individuals must have, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience as an Accountant - Assignment Level I or at least two years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience.

Preferred Skills

The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting skills, familiarity with FMS2/3, and proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivot tables and lookup functions.
