Position Overview:

The Aerospace Maintenance Technician is accountable for executing repair services on designated airframe and aeronautical components while adhering to stringent deadlines. This role demands a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes schematic diagrams, technical publications, and charts to operate, test, troubleshoot, and replace aircraft system components.
  • Ensures compliance with FOD prevention, safety programs, and tool control measures.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
  • Conducts preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Performs various servicing tasks including flushing crankcases, cleaning filters, greasing components, and checking brakes.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions in aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
  • Handles the jacking and towing of aircraft, maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • May service engines and airframe components at line stations to ensure safe operational conditions.
  • Conducts conditional inspections such as 100-hour, progressive, and periodic checks.
  • Examines engines for issues such as cracked cylinders and oil leaks.
  • Operates and inspects ground support equipment, documenting any discrepancies.
  • Participates in the movement of aircraft during maintenance activities.
  • Orders necessary parts and supplies as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic.
  • Proficient knowledge of aircraft systems and the use of standard and specialized tools.
  • Exhibits professionalism through effective communication and behavior.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Quick and accurate decision-making abilities.
  • Flexibility and a capacity for rapid learning of new concepts.
  • Familiarity with technical documents such as service bulletins.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and machinery.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, reaching, bending, and prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
  • Capable of working in cramped and awkward positions, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds, seeking assistance for heavier objects.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment for hazardous operations.
  • May involve night shifts and work in various environments, including hangars and outdoor settings.
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and potential electrical hazards.
  • Some domestic travel may be necessary.
