Maintenance Technician for Facility Operations

Reports to: Facility Manager

Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Technician collaborates closely with the facility management team to support the daily upkeep and cleaning of the cultivation and manufacturing site. This role demands a well-organized, diligent, and trustworthy individual who handles sensitive information with discretion and possesses a keen eye for detail.

Compensation: $17.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Ensures all mechanical systems are in optimal condition.
  • Coordinates with contractors and service providers.
  • Performs necessary building repairs using hand tools, motorized lifts, and machinery such as lathes and grinders.
  • Collects and disposes of waste materials manually or with powered equipment.
  • Regularly inspects buildings and grounds at night, checking doors, windows, and locks for security.
  • Monitors the condition of premises and equipment, reporting any required repairs or safety concerns.
  • Operates powered machines to scrub, strip, sanitize, wax, and buff floors.
  • Maintains an inventory of cleaning and restroom supplies.
  • Cleans walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using ladders.
  • Removes litter, glass, snow, or other debris from grounds and parking areas.
  • Handles loading and unloading of supplies, moving heavy furniture and equipment as needed.
  • May perform grounds maintenance tasks, including snow removal and landscaping duties.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as required to achieve organizational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of industrial experience is preferred, particularly in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively, working independently.
  • Commitment to safety as a core value, serving as a role model for colleagues.
  • Strong focus on service and quality, addressing issues promptly and communicating effectively.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including short-notice requests.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves physical activity, including prolonged sitting, standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds (or more with assistance).
  • Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity are essential.
  • The work environment typically has a moderate noise level.
