- Current military personnel eligible to join the Air National Guard.
Responsibilities:
The Aerospace Propulsion Technician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues with aircraft engines and related propulsion systems. Key duties include:
- Conducting troubleshooting on malfunctioning engines and associated components, determining necessary repairs or replacements.
- Utilizing schematic diagrams, blueprints, and diagnostic data to analyze malfunctions.
- Performing engine run operations to verify findings and troubleshoot issues.
- Removing and installing engines and auxiliary power units as required.
- Operating Automated Ground Test Systems (AGETS) to troubleshoot and repair jet engines.
- Executing evaluations at critical stages of the repair process to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conducting test cell operations for engine and aircraft run-ups, making adjustments to ensure safe operation.
- Performing scheduled evaluations on engines and associated systems.
- Interpreting engine management trend data to predict and prevent potential failures.
- Conducting in-progress inspections to certify the performance of propulsion system components.
- Finalizing certifications of completed work and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Managing supply assets and ensuring compatibility of engine components.
- Maintaining accurate records of engine and component information in maintenance systems.
Technical Expertise:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in:
- Installing, removing, and repairing a variety of aircraft engines and accessories.
- Understanding jet engine theory and its integration with aircraft systems.
- Operating test equipment to troubleshoot and maintain aircraft engines.
- Interpreting technical documentation and schematics for effective repairs.
- Applying quality assurance principles to verify compliance with specifications.
Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate:
- General experience in assembly and disassembly operations of aircraft engines.
- Specialized experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft engines.
Successful applicants will be expected to provide detailed documentation of their experience and qualifications as part of the application process.
This position may involve additional duties such as emergency response, equipment decontamination, and participation in readiness evaluations.
Additional Information: This role may require adherence to state and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials and maintenance practices.
