About the Role

The Senior Internal Auditor is a key member of the Internal Audit team at PotlatchDeltic, responsible for assisting the Director of Internal Audit in the execution of the annual Audit Plan. This involves performing risk-based financial and operational audits, as well as testing internal controls over financial reporting to support the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit Management:
    • Assist in the development of the annual risk-based audit plan.
    • Develop audit programs, schedules, and lead internal audits.
    • Communicate audit results and recommendations to management through oral and written reports.
    • Track outstanding audit issues and remediation efforts.
    • Perform audit work in conformance with the Institute of Internal Audit standards.
    • Assist KPMG in the SOX audit and year-end IT audit work.
  • Financial and Operational Audits:
    • Assist the Internal Audit Director with periodic reporting to the audit committee, development of the annual internal audit plan, and championing internal controls throughout the business.
    • Formulate and communicate the plan, scope, and timing of each assigned engagement.
    • Review company policies and procedures for adequacy of internal controls; make recommendations to strengthen or incorporate internal controls.
    • Prepare audit reports that summarize audit findings, provide recommendations, and document management responses.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Control Reviews:
    • Assist in the risk assessments of key financial and IT areas.
    • Work with the Internal Audit Director to incorporate financial and IT SOX controls with the annual SOX plan.
    • Document procedures and controls and complete walkthroughs relevant to key areas.
    • Educate, advise, and collaborate on the design of internal controls.
    • Complete SOX control testing, document, and communicate results.
  • Year-End Audit:
    • Work with external auditors to gain an understanding of the plan, scope, and timing of the engagement.
    • Assist external auditors with direct assist audit procedures.
    • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to the Internal Audit Director, external auditors, and key personnel.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of audit experience.
  • Supervisory and IT audit experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and execute audit engagements, articulate findings, and communicate recommendations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Accounting or Auditing Certification (CMA, CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
