Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Lutheran Homes of South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile, maintain, and retrieve medical records while adhering to medical records standards of confidentiality.
  • Assist with developing, organizing, implementing, and maintaining health information systems for accurate storage and retrieval of medical information.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintaining accurate and confidential medical records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for medical records management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in medical records or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills required.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to travel throughout the service area.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job including bending, carrying, stooping, walking, and lifting.
