About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at The RMR Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the physical integrity of our properties and providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all equipment and systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
  • Inspect and maintain all tools and equipment in excellent condition.
  • Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair tasks, including electrical and plumbing work, A/C and heating system maintenance, and appliance repair.
  • Ensure that all work areas are clean and safe, and that storage areas are locked when not in use.
  • Assist in making ready repairs and services, and coordinate with make-ready staff as needed.
  • Report all major repairs and need requisitions to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.
  • Change locks, rekey locks, and make keys as needed.
  • Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage to apartments, and assist in moving abandoned furniture and appliances to the dumpster when necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years' experience in maintenance property management.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • CPO Certification preferred.
  • Ability to earn future designations as required by industry standards, EPA regulations, and OSHA requirements.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other relevant information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Must be team-oriented and a problem solver.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • May be required to work extended periods of time without relief, when responding to priority/emergency situations.
  • Stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of equipment and tools.
