About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at The RMR Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the physical integrity of our properties and providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair, involving electrical and plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, water irrigation systems, and other essential systems.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and report them to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.
  • Locks and Security: Change locks, rekey locks, and make keys as needed.
  • Heavy Lifting and Moving: Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage to apartments or vice versa as circumstances warrant.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Supervisor, Property Manager, and other team members to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2+ years' experience in maintenance property management.
  • Certifications: EPA Universal Certification required; CPO Certification preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other essential systems; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
