Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MILSATCOM Operations and Maintenance Lead to join our team at V2X. Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the communications maintenance work center, utilizing operating instructions, Technical Orders, and DISA Circulars to ensure operational availability requirements are satisfied.
  • Train new personnel in a timely manner, updating training records and ensuring training programs are up-to-date with the installation or removal of equipment.
  • Create and submit reports as needed, requesting Authorized Service Interruptions to perform maintenance.
  • Maintain the Custodian Authorization & Custody Receipt Listing and associated paperwork for the account, coordinating with supply on equipment turnover and ordering.
  • Act as the COMSEC Responsible Officer, receiving and accounting for new COMSEC, ensuring proper inventories and annotations in the Master Station Log.
  • Oversee Crypto updates, verifying proper destruction practices and creating Emergency Action Plans in accordance with directives.
  • Work with Network Control Terminals, telecommunications users, and other facilities to troubleshoot and restore communications.
  • Coordinate with the Precision Measurement Equipment Lab on test equipment ordering and calibration.
  • Account for supply point and bench stock items, requesting funds prior to utilization and conducting monthly and annual inventories.
  • Execute proper actions for incoming and outgoing classified documents and equipment, ensuring proper documentation and packaging.
  • Update operating instructions to reflect new procedures or policies.
  • Oversee the office filing system, ensuring completeness and correct filling of items using the AFRIMS program.
  • Input equipment data into the Integrated Maintenance Data System, checking weekly status of overdue Preventative Maintenance Inspections.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of MILSATCOM technical experience, or equivalent.
  • Completion of civilian or military SATCOM training, Technical Control training, or equivalent.
  • Preferred certification: Certifications in network security, such as Security+ or similar certifications from DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a DoD Top Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain one.
Working Environment

This position requires a standard Communications/Operations center environment, with occasional travel to support on/off-site testing or training activities. The successful candidate must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and be willing to perform extended hours or weekends to meet mission requirements.

Physical Activities
  • Sitting at computer workstations for long periods while monitoring satellite communications.
  • Walking and standing during inspections and coordination with other teams.
  • Reaching, bending, and crouching to access communications equipment.
  • Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Be able to walk at least 500 feet in extremely cold weather, negotiate multiple sets of stairs without assistance, and have the ability to distinguish colors.
