At ScottsMiracle-Gro, we're seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for obtaining and maintaining federal/state/territory registrations of our products. You'll develop registration strategies to meet the timing needs of the business with minimal oversight, while also identifying regulatory issues that impact our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in team meetings and support new product launches or product changes.
  • Prepare and submit product applications and/or registrations along with required maintenance activities with minimal oversight.
  • Review and approve labels and labeling in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop regulatory strategies to support execution of the business plan with minimal oversight.
  • Respond to requests and other correspondence from regulatory agencies with minimal oversight.
  • Keep current on regulatory requirements through self-study/attendance at conferences/training seminars.
  • Interact and negotiate with appropriate regulatory authorities on registrations and issues relevant to the business with minimal oversight.
  • Monitor government regulatory activities and begin to build an influencer network by representing Scotts at meetings and conferences with appropriate external organizations.

Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented to ensure alignment and execution of business strategies.
  • Ability to interpret regulations.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment where success depends on internal and external collaborations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven success with building strategic internal work relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Possess intellectual curiosity.
  • Bachelor's degree in science, government affairs, or technical disciplines.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience, including government affairs, environmental science, product development, plant sciences, toxicology, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of state and/or federal government regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of time and/or project management principles.
  • Solid understanding of Scotts company product categories is a plus.
  • Awareness of other relevant chemical regulations (e.g. OSHA, VOC, Prop 65).

ScottsMiracle-Gro offers a competitive salary range of $65,900.00 - $77,500.00 per year, with various factors considered in determining the actual pay, including skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
