Job Title: Financial Care Specialist I

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Financial Care Specialist I to play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient relations support to Patient Financial Services, identifying, analyzing, resolving and responding to customer inquiries, concerns and issues.
  • Follow up on accounts to ensure payment and resolution, working independently and utilizing strong customer service skills to deescalate issues quickly.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of revenue cycle functions and payor contracts to understand, interpret and explain billing and collections policy and practices.
  • Monitor assigned work queues and workload, ensuring resolve of accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adhere to documentation standards of the department, accurately using activity codes and maintaining acceptable levels of speed and accuracy.
  • Negotiate and document payment plans within established policies, achieving timely and accurate account collection for hospital and professional services.
  • Respond to patient, insurance company and other authorized third-party inquiries, including return of calls and research needed to bring account to final resolution.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree in business administration or a related major or college level courses in finance, business, or health insurance preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of hospital billing or professional billing and/or Collection experience with customer service and call center experience required.
