Position: Early Head Start - Financial Operations Specialist
Role Summary:
We are looking for a Financial Operations Specialist to work under the guidance of the Partnership Service Coordinator. This role involves managing the review, processing, and distribution of provider payments, as well as addressing any issues related to these transactions. The responsibilities of the Financial Operations Specialist include:
- Supervising the processing and issuance of provider payments derived from the EHS CCP databases.
- Assisting in the disbursement of provider payments utilizing the EHS CCP payment platform.
- Managing all inquiries from providers concerning payment-related questions and issues.
- Inputting data into the EHS CCP Payments database.
- Executing payment modifications as necessary.
- Maintaining a record of communications received, the nature of the issue, and its resolution.
- Evaluating and processing provider reimbursements to ensure payments are made accurately and promptly in line with MOU agreements, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Contacting specialists or providers to clarify and gather information for incomplete timesheets and/or invoices, as well as any other information required for payment processing.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D. is mandatory; some college education is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger is advantageous; experience in a government-funded non-profit setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting and banking principles; familiarity with preparing financial statements and various statistical reports is essential.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in computerized accounting systems and Excel reporting; experience in non-profit accounting is beneficial.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial; must possess strong organizational and multitasking abilities; analytical skills to identify discrepancies; capability to prepare various analytical reports; ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
Special Requirements:
- Must comply with State health regulations, including passing a physical examination as a condition of employment, Live Scan, and immunization clearance.
