Job Summary:
Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Counselor I - Behavioral Healthcare Specialist to join our team. As a Counselor I, you will be responsible for providing individual counseling, group facilitation, and crisis intervention services to youth and young adults in our juvenile justice system programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counseling and group facilitation services to youth and young adults in our juvenile justice system programs.
- Conduct crisis intervention services as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide regular progress notes and documentation of services provided.
- Participate in weekly supervisions and in-service training.
- Collaborate with probation staff to ensure youth are safe and able to engage in treatment programs.
- Facilitate educational groups and process groups as assigned.
- Make direct contact with outside entities to assist patients in resolving legal, financial, housing, medical, and psychiatric issues.
- Facilitate discharge-planning efforts, including after-care arrangements, educational needs, family relationships, housing, and living arrangements.
- Conduct random UA testing and documentation of results for all clients.
- Interface daily with agency Utilization Review personnel and provide regular reports on patient's current status.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in academic Addictions Studies Program and completed a minimum of 90 hours of approved instruction.
- Registration with any one of the approved state-level certification entities: CADTP, CAADE, or CCAPP.
- 1 year in a behavioral healthcare setting.
