About the Role

As a CBRE Building Engineer/Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for managing all operations and infrastructure within the boiler room. Your primary goal will be to ensure that systems are operating as required, resolving and escalating any abnormal conditions or emergencies as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain boiler certifications as required.
  • Monitor the alarm system(s) and take action in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Perform periodic readings and rounds of Power Plant equipment, taking appropriate action for identified deficiencies.
  • Maintain boilers in their appropriate state (operating, hot standby, etc.) based on documented procedures.
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance, completing maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimating time and materials needed to complete repair and ordering necessary materials and supplies.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • Valid Boiler Operating Engineer License required.
  • Valid Driver's License needed.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
