Job Objective:
The Area Operations Manager is tasked with the comprehensive development, oversight, and management of the ARC Family Thrift Stores, with an emphasis on generating net revenue to support the ARC Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:
- Formulates and executes business, strategic, and financial plans aimed at enhancing net revenue.
- Conducts sales and productivity assessments, forecasting, and initiating necessary actions to meet strategic and financial objectives.
- Provides evaluations based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Financial Management:
- Collaborates with the finance department to establish and oversee all store budgets.
- Works alongside store supervisors and managers to ensure income and expenses remain within budgetary limits.
- Reviews monthly budget reports to identify areas of achievement or concern.
- Assists supervisors and managers in adjusting expenditures and scheduling based on report findings.
- Oversees the procurement and tracking of Goods Purchased for Resale (GPR).

Personnel Management:
- Recruits, interviews, recommends hires, trains, and supervises Regional Manager 1 and Store Managers.
- Manages the recruitment process for store staffing and proactively ensures adequate staffing levels.
- Supports and develops supervisors and managers in their leadership roles with store staff.
- Ensures adherence to TSA Policies and Procedures for Human Resources at all levels.
- Conducts periodic reviews of staffing ratios and payroll accuracy.
- Provides final approval of payroll information bi-weekly for all store personnel.
- Holds monthly meetings with store supervisors and managers.
- Assists Managers in creating and implementing corrective actions, ensuring all documentation aligns with TSA HR Policies and Procedures.

Store Operations:
- Oversees the forecasting and establishment of product acquisition, production, and sales targets for each store.
- Coordinates with the Director of Operations/Production Supervisor and/or Expediter to ensure timely deliveries to all stores.
- Acts as primary support for the Point of Sales system utilized in stores, addressing and communicating any issues to higher-level support.
- Evaluates special donation offers to determine their salability prior to acceptance.
- Supports the implementation of operational policies, including operating hours, banking procedures, vacation schedules, and compliance with store manuals and directives.
- Ensures store inventory, pricing, and merchandise marking adhere to established guidelines.
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations to develop and implement Product Control Procedures aimed at minimizing shrinkage due to theft or spoilage.
- Ensures compliance with Safe From Harm Guidelines in store operations.
- Works with the leadership team and ARC Command to devise marketing strategies and sales initiatives.
- Oversees the execution of marketing efforts within stores.
- Ensures accurate and properly filed incident report documentation.
- Conducts regular store inspections, providing feedback and training to uphold branding standards.

Program Management:
- Collaborates with the ARC Director for Rehabilitative Services in assigning, supervising, and training beneficiaries in stores to maximize work therapy objectives. Works with Store Managers to facilitate the success of the beneficiaries.

Property & Equipment Oversight:
- Manages property maintenance for stores, coordinating with the Director of Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Ensures store compliance with all OSHA and Salvation Army safety and security policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with TSA Leadership to identify opportunities for store expansion or contraction.
- Submits all financial, civic, property, and legal documents for processing and approval.
- Works with TSA Leadership to complete and submit necessary documents for lease renewals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
