About the Role

We are looking for an experienced nurse with excellent clinical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care, working effectively as part of a healthcare team, and contributing to the provision of cost-effective healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Decision Making/Judgment:
    • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills in the care of patients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Apply the nursing process effectively to deliver individualized patient care.
    • Prioritize patient care activities based on changing needs and environmental factors.
  • Nurse-Patient Family Relationships:
    • Develop and implement teaching plans tailored to the learning needs of patients and families.
    • Provide culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate care to patients and families.
    • Address the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and learning needs of patients and families in care plans.
  • Clinical Scholarship:
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities at the unit, department, or organizational level.
    • Support evidence-based guidelines and policies to promote safe patient care and a safe practice environment.
  • Clinical Leadership:
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve excellence in patient care and contribute to shared governance.
    • Evaluate delegated patient care activities for expected outcomes.
    • Use real-time computer documentation for accurate patient records.
  • Unit-Specific Responsibilities:
    • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical patients aged 18-elderly.
    • Utilize telemetry effectively to manage patient care during dysrhythmic episodes.
    • Identify and treat common medical diagnoses, such as activity intolerance, impaired adjustment, and pain.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
