Lead Financial Analyst for Program Management

Join Cobham as a Lead Financial Analyst for Program Management, where you will play a pivotal role in steering financial strategies that underpin our mission-critical projects. Your analytical prowess and innovative mindset will be essential in transforming our concepts into reality, serving clients in the defense and aerospace sectors.
Your Responsibilities
As a key contributor, you will:
- Act as a subject matter expert in program finance processes and methodologies.
- Guide and mentor junior analysts, ensuring adherence to best practices and policies.
- Foster collaborative relationships across various departments including Program Management, Contracts, Procurement, Operations, and Engineering.
- Develop and manage work breakdown structures (WBS) and charge numbers within our ERP systems.
- Create and maintain time-phased program baselines to effectively monitor costs and schedules.
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to evaluate program performance and financial health.
- Track material costs and oversee production labor to ensure efficiency.
- Generate comprehensive reports to support both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify risks and opportunities within programs.
- Support the planning and execution of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP).
- Collaborate with leadership to present financial metrics and insights on program performance.
- Assist in developing standardized financial policies and procedures.
- Engage in proposal development, audits, and negotiations.
- Participate in special projects aimed at enhancing finance processes.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, or a Master's Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will also have:
- A Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience or a Master's Degree with 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
- Experience in the Defense Industry and familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
- Independence and self-motivation to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Oracle, IFS, or other ERP systems.
