Job SummaryThe Director of Facilities and EVS is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the administration and maintenance of our facilities. This role requires a high level of expertise and leadership, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the activities of the Maintenance Department and the Environmental Services Department to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities.
- Inspect department facilities, vehicles, processes, equipment, and inventories to ensure organization, efficiency, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Supervise the activities of the Maintenance Manager and EVS Manager, including training, coaching, disciplining, and providing feedback.
- Conduct management team meetings to discuss departmental issues, including best practices, employee performance, safety, financial plans, profit and loss reports, and other issues.
- Inspect GISD facilities for general condition and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, hazardous waste disposal, storm water regulations, and ADA requirements.
- Participate in construction and renovation projects by acting as a facilities services liaison, providing Maintenance and EVS services as requested, storing and delivering materials, and establishing recurring services such as pest control and HVAC maintenance.
- Review requests from other departments for services, new equipment, and renovations, and work with other department heads to ensure maintainability, reliability, system design, and energy consumption.
- Perform administrative duties, including maintaining records and plans, collecting data, setting annual goals and objectives, preparing and implementing budgets, setting staffing levels and department structures, implementing fiscal controls, and making policy and procedure recommendations.
- Administer the GISD access control program, develop and maintain a lock plan for each facility, and purchase door hardware, install locks as needed, issue keys, and submit completed key receipt forms to Human Resources for record keeping.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- A minimum of eight years of high-level experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer literacy, including the ability to use Internet, email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A valid California driver's license and a driving record acceptable by Goodwill's insurance company.
- A current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
- Supervisory experience of multiple departments/areas, logistics experience, and the ability to conduct training for a minimum of 150 people.
- Overall knowledge of product flow, planning, and customer service expectations.
