Job Title: Back End Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:

Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is seeking a skilled Back End Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of back end equipment, including flangers, beaders, light testers, lacquer spray machines, IBOs, palletizer, and strappers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and set-up of back end equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect and monitor can specifications, including flanged can height, factory finished can height, flange width, flange angle, axial load, panel resistance, bead depth, rolling bead diameter and placement, plug diameter, and oven temperature checks.
  • Conduct visual checks of cans to ensure compliance with quality standards and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation, including process check sheets, log books, and maintenance check sheets.
  • Perform Equipment Set-up Evaluations (ESE) and make adjustments as required.
  • Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans through the plant.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures and work practices.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to safely operate production forklift.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, gauges, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to use precision measurement devices, such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
