Job Summary:

As a Back End Maintenance Mechanic at Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and set up equipment, including flangers, beaders, light testers, lacquer spray machines, IBOs, palletizer, and strappers. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and setup of all back end conveying, including single filers and can transfer apparatus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and setup of equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Inspect and monitor can specifications at scheduled intervals, including flanged can height, factory finished can height, flange width, flange angle, axial load, panel resistance, bead depth, rolling bead diameter and placement, plug diameter, and oven temperature checks.
• Conduct visual checks of cans to ensure compliance with process standards and take corrective action when deficiencies are found.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation, including process check sheets, log books, and maintenance check sheets.
• Perform Equipment Set-up Evaluations (ESE) and make necessary adjustments.
• Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans through the plant.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety procedures and work practices.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Ability to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to safely operate production forklifts.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems, gauges, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to use precision measurement devices, such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
