Job Overview

Hotel Equities, a distinguished hotel development and management firm, is seeking an exceptional Operations Manager for the Sheraton Northbrook Hotel.

Role Objective:

Oversee and coordinate various hotel functions (Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, complimentary Food & Beverage) to ensure guest, employee, corporate, and owner satisfaction while achieving financial targets. This position entails both strategic and operational responsibilities, including short and long-term planning. You will develop and propose budgets, marketing strategies, and objectives, managing operations within these approved frameworks.   • Lead Human Resources initiatives to attract, retain, and motivate staff; responsibilities include hiring, training, developing, empowering, coaching, conducting performance evaluations, resolving issues, and maintaining open communication.
  • Formulate, propose, implement, and oversee the annual budget, business/marketing plans, forecasts, and objectives to meet or exceed management expectations.
  • Execute company programs (corporate/franchise), create local initiatives and procedures, and manage group operations, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and all applicable laws to deliver optimal service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Address customer complaints effectively to uphold high levels of satisfaction and service quality.
  • Adhere to emergency protocols and train Departmental Ambassadors to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and company assets.
  • Promote a proactive accident prevention program to minimize liabilities and associated costs.
  • Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of both front and back of house areas to protect assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service and guest satisfaction.
  • Assume General Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Qualifications and Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

Experience with major hotel brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt.

This role requires the following abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management.
  • Extensive understanding of various operational areas and the ability to integrate and communicate that information effectively.
  • Capability to analyze and interpret complex information to enhance existing practices or devise new strategies.
  • Decision-making skills guided by general policies and procedures, keeping the General Manager informed of overarching direction.
  • Highly developed communication skills for leading staff and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with managers, guests, and team members.
  • Strong literacy skills for preparing reports, policies, and procedures.
  • Visual acuity for inspecting hotel facilities.
  • Mobility to navigate through all areas of the hotel.
