Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Nurse Extern is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care by performing various delegated basic patient care tasks related to standard nursing functions and daily living activities. Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern assists the nursing team in providing patient care in alignment with their training and the department's needs, while also helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment. The Nurse Extern must be currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited nursing school and can perform advanced procedures once competency is demonstrated.

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing education completed is preferred.

HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility offering both inpatient and outpatient services. We are recognized as a Primary Stroke Center by Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration and provide diagnostic services accredited by the American College of Radiology.
