Position Summary:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing services to residents. This role involves comprehensive assessments, adherence to healthcare provider orders, timely interventions, and maintaining accurate documentation of resident care. The Nurse Manager will also supervise the nursing department, focusing on continuous improvement of staff performance and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to facility policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure safe and effective resident care by applying current nursing standards and demonstrating clinical proficiency.
  3. Conduct evaluations and admissions through thorough resident assessments, especially during significant changes in health status.
  4. Oversee medication management, coordinating with pharmacies to maintain proper inventory and auditing medication carts regularly.
  5. Assist residents with medication administration and supervise staff in these tasks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  6. Facilitate the setup of third-party services for residents.
  7. Develop and implement care plans based on assessments and healthcare provider directives, revising as necessary, and ensuring compliance with physician orders.
  8. Supervise nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and caregivers, managing schedules and providing guidance to ensure effective care delivery.
  9. Provide orientation and training to staff, aligning with state regulations and the needs of the resident population.
  10. Maintain accurate resident records, documenting the nature and outcomes of services provided.
  11. Communicate effectively with families regarding resident care while adhering to confidentiality policies.
  12. Conduct monthly assessments for residents receiving specific services and maintain accurate logs and documentation.
  13. Perform additional duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise all caregiving and nursing staff, coordinating healthcare needs within the community.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must demonstrate punctuality and satisfactory attendance; adhere to dress code and maintain personal hygiene. Must exhibit emotional stability and maturity, using a calm and respectful tone with residents, staff, and families. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing situations is essential. Compassion for the elderly and commitment to confidentiality is crucial. Must work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain a positive work environment.

Education and Experience:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold a current nursing license in Florida, with a preference for RNs. A minimum of one year of experience in an assisted living environment, including supervisory experience, is required. Completion of the Assisted Living Facility Core Training is necessary. A genuine desire to work with older adults and an understanding of their physical, mental, and emotional needs are essential.
