Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. This individual will be responsible for administering to daily technical issues, understanding product end use and material constraints, and defining internal requirements necessary to produce the product.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cost reductions, product improvement, process improvement, and yield improvement processes that are sustainable.
- Monitor product performance - properties, physical characteristics, and yield.
- Review customer specifications for acceptance.
- Interface with sales personnel and customers to resolve any differential between customer requirements and SMC capabilities.
- Maintain document control systems and associated databases.
- Participate in Management review meetings as needed.
- Interface with customers on quality-related issues.
Requirements
- BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the metals processing industry.
- MS in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Thorough understanding of physical metallurgy as it applies to thermomechanical processing and properties of metals.
