Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Summary:

Kopos & Baker, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team. As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for administering to daily technical issues, understanding product end use and material constraints, and defining internal requirements necessary to produce the product.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define key process parameters and establish process capabilities and control methodology.
  2. Develop efficient methods of manufacturing to meet product requirements.
  3. Develop and implement cost reductions, product improvement, process improvement, and yield improvement processes that are sustainable.
  4. Monitor product performance – properties, physical characteristics, and yield.
  5. Review customer specifications for acceptance.
  6. Interface with sales personnel and customers to resolve any differential between customer requirements and SMC capabilities.
  7. Maintain document control systems and associated databases.
  8. Participate in Management review meetings as needed.
  9. Interface with customers on quality-related issues.

Requirements:

BS in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science; advance degree a plus. A thorough understanding of physical metallurgy as it applies to thermomechanical processing and the properties of metals is also required. 1 to 3 years of experience is preferred.

  • Strong communication skills. Ability to present to senior leadership team.

Work Environment:

Office and shop floor environment.
