Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at 21st Century Staffing. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for administering daily technical issues, understanding product end use and material constraints, and defining internal requirements necessary to produce the product.
Key Responsibilities- Define key process parameters and establish process capabilities and control methodology.
- Develop efficient methods of manufacturing to meet product requirements.
- Develop and implement cost reductions, product improvement, process improvement, and yield improvement processes that are sustainable.
- Monitor product performance - properties, physical characteristics, and yield.
- Review customer specifications for acceptance.
- Interface with sales personnel and customers to resolve any differential between customer requirements and SMC capabilities.
- Maintain document control systems and associated databases.
- Participate in Management review meetings as needed.
- Interface with customers on quality-related issues.
We are looking for a candidate with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the metals processing industry. A MS in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering is preferred. A thorough understanding of physical metallurgy as it applies to thermomechanical processing and properties of metals is also required.
Special SkillsThe Process Engineer will have knowledge of the principles and practices of VAR/VIM/ESR melting, the ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, as well as presentations to senior leadership. The ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions is also required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
