Key Responsibilities:
  • Define key process parameters and establish process capabilities and control methodology.
  • Develop efficient methods of manufacturing to meet product requirements.
  • Develop and implement cost reductions, product improvement, process improvement, and yield improvement processes that are sustainable.
  • Monitor product performance – properties, physical characteristics, and yield.
  • Review customer specifications for acceptance.
  • Interface with sales personnel and customers to resolve any differential between customer requirements and SMC capabilities.
  • Maintain document control systems and associated databases.
  • Participate in Management review meetings as needed.
  • Interface with customers on quality-related issues.
Requirements:
  • BS in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science; advance degree a plus.
  • A thorough understanding of physical metallurgy as it applies to thermomechanical processing and the properties of metals is also required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience is preferred.
Competencies:
  • Technical competence.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Strong understanding of products and processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address customer concerns.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to present to senior leadership team.
