Job Summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Systems Specialist to support engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of production electromechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the construction of electronic and electro-mechanical test equipment from engineering documents, including drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Build all cables, harnesses, and custom electronic test assemblies.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies and COTS items into mechanical cabinets and racks.
  • Perform quality inspection of systems and components, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Make recommendations for engineering changes to resolve functional and quality issues.
  • Support efforts to assess replacement components within systems to improve system performance or manage obsolescence resolution.
  • Maintain and update all system production and quality records.

Requirements

Education and Experience: An associate's degree with a minimum of 10 years' experience or proven equivalent skills developed from work experience and technical training in a military or similar environment.

  • Demonstrated comprehensive experience of 10 years or more building and troubleshooting electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with engineers and customers.
  • Ability to mentor and develop less experienced technicians. Ability to manage technical projects with limited supervision.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Interim Secret to start work on the contract; ability to obtain a Secret; U.S. citizenship required
