Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and organized Senior Mechanical Engineer-Test Director to join our team at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Propulsion Test Facility (NUWC-PTF) in Newport, RI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading test operations, managing projects, and collaborating with engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Director Support: Interface with customers to define key test requirements, establish test documentation, and oversee test unit builds, facility integration, and testing operations.
  • Project Management: Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to team members, engineers, and technicians to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a broad engineering skill-set, including proficiency in CAD software, technical writing, and data acquisition systems.
  • Communication and Presentation: Develop and deliver presentations, create slide packages, and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) to ensure effective communication with customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain SECRET level clearance.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in CAD software, technical writing, data acquisition systems, and project management.
