Description SAIC is seeking a motivated and skilled Engineering Technician whom will work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI.Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides technician support and expertise to a cross-functional team.
Provides solution recommendations to engineering and fabrication problems of moderate scope and complexity in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner.
Hardware fabrication and assembly of systems, cables, and wire harnesses.
Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
Provides redlines or identifies issues with engineering documentation, reports, or drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).

Qualifications Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a technical field; High school diploma or GED certificate.
Candidate must be a US Citizen.

Must currently possess an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS Clearance.
Production cable building experience.
Experience with Electro-mechanical hardware design and fabrication.
Ability to read schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.
Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including multi meters, micrometers, calipers, and other similar metrology devices.
Attention to detail.
Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) experience.

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
