Key Responsibilities of a Construction Cost Analyst
- Preferred: GB98 contractor's license
- Thoroughly review documentation to fully understand project specifications.
- Identify, measure, and monitor key performance indicators.
- Conduct site visits, inspect warehouses, and assess other locations as needed for accurate estimations.
- Perform detailed analysis of gathered data and metrics.
- Develop reliable and relevant forecasts.
- Engage in comprehensive risk assessment activities.
- Prepare and deliver reports to senior management.
- Evaluate and analyze proposals.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with essential suppliers.
- Oversee the buyout of subcontracts following project award.
Requirements for the Construction Cost Analyst Position
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction cost analyst.
- Preferred: GB2 or GB98 contractor's license.
- Extensive knowledge of project management principles.
- Hands-on experience with intricate data research tasks.
- Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and key performance indicators.
- Familiarity with software such as Timberline or ProContractor by Viewpoint.
- Knowledge of RS Means.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Highly proficient in pre-construction processes.
- Adept at budgeting with incomplete plans or conceptual drawings.
- Skilled in on-screen takeoff methods.
- Ability to create detailed scope sheets for subcontractors.
- Proficient in interpreting federal solicitations.
- Capability to generate both technical and pricing responses to RFPs.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, or a related field.
