About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for various projects, from preliminary assessments to final estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive project estimates by analyzing proposed plans and specifications.
  • Interpret construction drawings and architectural designs to develop accurate project estimates.
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain tendering processes and conduct negotiations.
  • Visit sites to record information about access, drainage, and topography.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • Ability to obtain Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Defense (DOD) security clearances.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software, including MS Office and Estimating software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
