Job Overview

The Rotor Assembly and Balancing Specialist plays a pivotal role in aligning business objectives with operational processes within the Assembly Test Division. This position requires leveraging technical expertise to address engineering challenges, formulate and implement strategic goals, mentor international teams, and effectively communicate with leadership to drive organizational success. The focus is on enhancing Assembly Rotor Stack and Balance methodologies for GE Aviation's production and maintenance facilities through the development and application of best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of rotor structural components and engine assembly techniques.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in vector mathematics and static analysis.
  • Develop and deliver training resources that promote best practices in engine assembly rotor stack and balance.
  • Conduct design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects while adhering to sound engineering principles and corporate standards.
  • Serve as a mentor to global rotor assembly teams, acting as a knowledgeable resource for colleagues and clients.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members involved in the assigned projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical data generated in accordance with engineering policies.
  • Regularly communicate and present significant project milestones to the leadership team.
  • Participate as a speaker or reviewer in technical and program evaluations.
  • Collaborate with global teams to share and implement assembly best practices across various locations.
  • Act as the technical liaison with equipment manufacturers, ensuring timely delivery of machinery and equipment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in rotor structural components and engine assembly, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
