The Assembly Process Engineer plays a pivotal role in articulating business objectives, initiatives, and methodologies within the Assembly Test Division. This position leverages your expertise to address technical challenges, formulate and implement goals, mentor international teams, communicate with management, and propel organizational objectives. The focus is on enhancing Assembly Rotor Stack and Balance for GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation production and maintenance operations through the development of best practices and resource optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Duties
- Proficient in rotor structure components and engine assembly processes
- Strong grasp of vector mathematics and static principles
- Develop and deliver training materials on engine assembly rotor stack and balance best practices
- Conduct design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects utilizing sound engineering principles while adhering to organizational standards, practices, and product/program specifications
- Serve as a mentor to global engine assembly rotor teams, acting as a knowledgeable resource for colleagues and clients
- Provide technical guidance to personnel involved in the assigned project
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project in accordance with engineering policies and procedures
- Regularly communicate and present key project milestones to the leadership team
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program evaluations
- Collaborate with global teams to implement assembly best practices across various locations
- Act as the technical liaison to equipment manufacturers, ensuring technical specifications are met and timely delivery of machinery/equipment
- Some domestic and international travel may be required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in rotor structure components and engine assembly) + Minimum of 3 years of experience in rotor structure components and engine assembly
